On July 7, the exhibition of a member of the Union of Professional Artists of Transcarpathia and the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Liubov Slobodska opened in the "Uzhgorod" gallery. On July 1, the artist turned 70! So, the exhibition is devoted to the anniversary.
The artist was born in Zhytomyr region, but has been living most of her life in Transcarpathia. Back in 1973, she and her husband – artist Vitaly Slobodsky – moved to our region, where she continues her creative work, actively participates in regional and national exhibitions. The family lives in the picturesque village of Rusky Mochar in Velyky Berezny district, close to the Yavirnyk mountain. Therefore, the collection presented in the gallery includes paintings and graphics in different genres. Mostly, rural landscapes, nature, flowers.
During the official part, People’s Artist of Ukraine, academician Volodymyr Mykyta said that the artist’s works are very feminine. Liubov Slobodska herself noted that exhibitions for artists are a kind of necessity. "In the studio, works look not like they do in the gallery. Here, viewers give their opinions. And artists have to take them into account and not be arrogant" – she summed up.
