Rapid response battalion of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region, while patrolling in Beregovo, noticed at the station a man with melee weapon.
Near the bus station in Beregovo, in the presence of two witnesses, the telescopic baton was seized from the man. The suspicious object in a jacket pocket of the 48-year-old resident of Beregovo was noticed by officers of the police rapid response battalion, who were checking the area after training.
The seized baton has a 10 cm black rubber handle, the unfolded weapon is almost half a meter long. It was sent for examination. Transcarpathian police pay particular attention to instances of illegal handling of weapons, as in Transcarpathia, as well as throughout Ukraine, the months of voluntary surrender of weapons continues.
During October, citizens can appeal to the police permit system units to surrender unregistered weapons.
