In Transcarpathia, orphans collected gifts for peers from the East

The moving act of children from Chynadiyevo orphanage impressed Transcarpathians. Children managed to collect not only toys and warm clothes, but also packed individual gifts for their peers. 

The director of Chynadiyevo orphanage Svitlana Sofilkanych told the "Den" that it was the idea of the children. "Our children received many gifts on holidays, and they began to wonder whether children from the east, where there is a war, had received any gifts. Children know about the difficult situation in Ukraine because they go to ordinary school. They know how students and teachers collect gifts for soldiers and children. We have prepared individual gifts with sweets, toys and hand-made souvenirs. In each gift, we left cards with the text "For children of the East from children of Chynadiyevo orphanage." Also we have collected bags with big toys and warm clothes," – Ms. Sofilkanych said.

Volunteer Yana Petryha admitted that she was very impressed by such an act of the young Ukrainians. "We have heard many stories of kids in different cities giving their savings, birthday gifts, but I have never heard of such an act. Children without parental care sharing what they have – toys. All volunteers are very moved," – the girl said.  

In Chinadiyevo orphanage, orphans and children deprived of parental care, aged 3 to 15 years are raised. In the nearest future, the children will visit the defenders of the homeland, who are being treated in the military hospital in Mukachevo. The children will bring soldiers cookies, and the orphanage staff raised funds and will give the defenders means of personal hygiene.
