The traditional regional conference on topical issues of choreography development in Transcarpathia was held in Uzhgorod. The theme of this year's conference was "Modern aspects of preservation and development of national choreographic culture in Transcarpathia".

The professional meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, colleges and schools of aesthetic education. There are 64 such schools in the region, and choreography is taught in 42 of them. In total, almost 2.5 thousand students study dancing, representing 16% of the total number of students in art schools of the region.

In turn, the head of the Department of Culture Yuriy Hleba said that the key to the development of the folk dance is the trinity of theoretical background, practical experience, and logistics which plays one of the key roles in the traditional Transcarpathian dances. This applies, for example, to the provision of dance companies with appropriate costumes, and this issue remains a problem for many.

During the meeting, there was also a master class from the college choreographers, and at the end, the college dance groups performed for the participants.
