Since the beginning of the year, NBU has bought 1.5 billion dollars on the interbank market

Since the beginning of 2015, the net purchase of currency by the National Bank on the interbank foreign exchange market has amounted to about 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.

This was stated in the report of the National Bank.

According to the regulator, on Monday, there was an auction for the sale of foreign currency.

"During the auction, the National Bank sold 37.5 million dollars. Average selling rate at the auction was 23 hryvnia per dollar," – the statement says.

As you know, for the sale and purchase of foreign currency, the National Bank can use both interventions on the interbank foreign exchange market and currency auctions.

In particular, since September 17, 2015, the regulator has been also conducting auctions to purchase foreign currency in order to increase international reserves.
