A resident of Mukachevo will be tried for evasion of mobilization

Recently, the prosecution office in the city of Mukachevo sent to the court an indictment against a local resident over a criminal offense under Art. 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – evading conscription during mobilization.

According to the prosecutor of Mukachevo Victor Dankanych, the pre-trial investigation found out that the suspect, being registered with Mukachevo city military commissariat as subject to military service due to announcement of mobilization and conscription to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and being properly notified in accordance with the law of the consequences of failing to report on call, in order to evade mobilization, without good reason, having passed a medical examination at Mukachevo city military commissariat (declared fit for military service), on the same day, received a mobilization order against his signature, under which he had to report within 24 hours to Mukachevo city military commissariat, failed to report to the military commissariat at the time specified in the call and did not explain the reason for failure to report to Mukachevo Joint City Military Commissariat.

According to article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the offender faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of two to five years.

This year, Mukachevo city and district court has sentenced three city residents to 2 years imprisonment with exemption from serving the sentence under Art. 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, if they do not commit a new crime within 1 year.
