Officials will be prosecuted for illegal felling of trees in the Bozdosh park

Officers of the Uzhgorod city council municipal enterprise face criminal responsibility for the illegal felling of trees in the "Bozdosh Park"

The Prosecutor of Uzhgorod registered in the URPI charges of official negligence against officials of the ME "Bozdosh" Recreation Park" of Uzhgorod city council. 

According to the Acting Prosecutor of Uzhgorod Serhiy Krasnogolovets, during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings over illegal felling of trees and shrubs within the natural reserve fund object – monument of landscape art of local importance "Bozdosh Park", more than 80 stubs from felled ash, maple, alder, elder trees were found. 

The State Environmental Inspectorate in Transcarpathian region calculated the damage inflicted to the state by Illegal felling of trees within the territory of the natural reserve fund – monument of landscape art of local importance "Bozdosh Park" – it is more than 73,000 UAH.  

The sanction of Part 1 of Art.  367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – negligence – provides for punishment in the form of up to three years imprisonment with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
