Late night, beginning of February 13, 3:24. The platform of the Chop station is crowded: relatives, friends, colleagues and activists are ready to welcome the Heroes at home!
Border guards of the separate military commandant "Chop", who for more than six months were performing combat tasks in Donetsk region, arrived in the border town by train "Lviv-Solotvyno."
Yesterday, February 12, our "Green Berets" (100 soldiers) were welcomed with honors in Lviv, where they had arrived by train from Berdyansk. On the way home, some soldiers got off the train in Velyky Berezny, Perechyn, Uzhgorod… However, this meeting at Chop station in the dark cold February morning was surprisingly warm and homely…
Accompanied by the national anthem of Ukraine, the soldiers stepped on their native land, where they were eagerly greeted by relatives, friends, co-workers and townspeople. And late (or rather early) time – 3:21 – was not an obstacle. Overall, that night, 102 soldiers returned home.
The rest of the personnel (50 men) with the convoy of military vehicles will be welcomed in Chop on Monday, February 16. The next day, February 17, at the local House of Culture, there will be celebrations to honor our soldiers.
