Transcarpathian customs have not a single scanner to detect contraband

Transcarpathian customs have not a single scanner to detect contraband. This information was announced today at a meeting with journalists by the head of the department of risk analysis and combating customs offenses of the Transcarpathian customs office Bogdan Yavorsky, the correspondent of the UNN informs.

According to him, the two scanners that were available at the Transcarpathian border crossing points, more than three years ago were handed over to the customs office of Odessa region.

So the customs border of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region was left without proper technical equipment.

The customs officers also said that in the neighboring EU country, a large share of smuggled goods is detected using such devices.
