Mukachevo said farewell to the hero Robert Kis, a border guard who was killed in the East. The mourning ceremony took place in the courtyard of the Cathedral of the Assumption.
The square in front of one of the main temple of the city was crowded. Hundreds of Mukachevo residents came to pay last tribute to Robert Kis, who gave his life for his country, tearfully prayed for the repose of the hero.
The service was conducted by priests of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese. Father Vasyl Kopyn noted that we can honor the fallen heroes with our own deeds, worthy performance of family and public duties in all spheres of life, and also mentioned the commemoration of Robert Kis by family and friends at the Obelisk of Glory.
After the memorial service, the people chanted the slogan "Heroes do not die."
As you know, October 10, soldiers of the Chop border guard commandant were caught in an ambush. One border guard – Major Victor Shepental from Svalyava – died immediately, and Robert Kis from Mukachevo died from his injuries on a hospital bed in the intensive care unit in Volnovakha.
Rest in peace Hero, condolences to family and friends!
Heroes do not die!
