CVU announced the results of the parliamentary elections 2014 in Transcarpathia

In Uzhgorod Press Club, there was a press conference of the head of the regional branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine Dmytro Tuzhansky. They discussed the work of the branch during the election campaign for the early election to the Parliament, expert opinions and observations, particularly concerning the election campaign, its features in Transcarpathia, campaigning, the election day and vote counting.

Dmytro Tuzhansky reminded that he headed the CVU in the region less than a month ago.  "Since the previous head decided to become a politician, and the CVU is an independent organization, I was approached with the offer to head the CVU and I agreed, – Dmytro Tuzhansky says. – We worked with international observers from CANEOM, ENEMO, OSCE. It should be noted that unlike Transcarpathian experts, international observers were examining carefully all constituencies. And local political scientists and journalists paid little to no attention to constituencies (except for №68), so the result of I.Kurakh in the 70th constituency was unexpected for everyone, in the 73rd constituency I.Petrushka and Ye.Yaryna, scored a good number of votes".

According to Dmytro Tuzhansky, international observers were mostly interested in vote-buying, how it happens, how to counter it.

Dmytro Tuzhansky also added that CVU actively cooperated with the police. They developed a manual for law enforcement officers with clearly described instructions on how to deal with conflict situations. The CVU held two training sessions for police officers. "I can not say that they were inspired by the work, but Transcarpathian policemen are well versed in their roles," – the head of the CVU in Transcarpathia said.

According to a parallel vote count, D.Tuzhansky says, the nationwide trend is also observed in Transcarpathia.  However, in Transcarpathia, there is slightly larger gap between Poroshenko Block (27.2%) and the Narodny Front (24.76%), the Radical Party – 6.62%, Samopomich – 9,23%, the Svoboda in Transcarpathia is on the verge of the threshold. The error of the parallel vote count will not exceed 1%, D.Tuzhansky assured.
