Uzhgorod city council is picketed because of expensive water
"Pension - 1000 hryvnia, water - 250 - how to survive?", "We've had enough! The government robs the people," " Kyiv - 6 UAH, Uzhgorod - 12. Why?".
With these banners, people came to Uzhgorod City Council to express dissatisfaction with water tariffs, which on July 1 increased to nearly 12 UAH. Now the protesters - and there are about hundred of them - entered the meeting room of the City Council, where the session begins.
They demand the City Council to appeal to the NERC to review the tariffs and to conduct an independent audit of the water utility.
