The Prosecutor’s Office approved and sent to the court an indictment regarding the head of a department of the State Higher Educational Institution "Uzhgorod National University."
As established by the investigation department of the MIA of Ukraine Office in the region during September and October this year, the teacher received from a Transcarpathian illegal benefit in the amount of about 6,000 UAH for the successful passing of examinations and tests.
Therefore, law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obtaining illegal benefit, the pre-trial investigation for which has been completed.
According to the head of the department for supervision over the observance of laws in anti-corruption sector and procedural control in criminal proceedings on corruption Vyacheslav Silchenko, "The sanction of this article provides for deprivation of liberty for a term of 2 to 4 years, with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years and with a special forfeiture."
