The 69th anniversary of the liberation from occupation was celebrated in Transcarpathia

Today, October 28, on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine and Transcarpathia from the Nazis, there was a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument "Ukraine to liberators", to Transcarpathian volunteers participating in the Second World War and the fallen heroes on the Hill of Fame. 

Heads of the region and the city, veterans, volunteers and their families, law enforcement officials, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, clergy, youth, political parties, NGOs came to the holy places to honor warriors who died in battles, to pay tribute to the liberators. 

Traditionally, the participants of the event were met by the brass band, honor guard and veterans. 

On the Hill of Fame, accompanied by the drumbeat, the participants honored those who died during the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence and laid wreaths and flowers to the Eternal Flame and the graves of the fallen soldiers – liberators of the region.  Also in honor of the grand exploits of our nation memorable, fireworks tore a peaceful sky…
