Banned “Rivotril” again was transported from Hungary

"This is my property and I carry it for my own needs, as a sedative. I bought the medication "Rivotril" in a pharmacy in Debrecen" – a citizen of Hungary explained in the report on violation of customs regulations, upon the discovery of 100 pills of the medicine on her.

During the customs control of the hand luggage belonging to the citizen of Hungary, who was travelling from Hungary to Ukraine in the international passenger train "Zahony – Chop", inspectors of the customs post "Chop-Railway" of the Chop customs found the pills containing the active ingredient "klonazepam" in amount of 2 mg in each which had not been indicated in the customs declaration and had not been declared during oral questioning. The medications were in the woman’s bag among personal items.

The active substance "klonazepam" belongs to psychotropic substances subject to restriction for circulation and transportation across the customs border of Ukraine. According to Ukrainian law, individuals have the right to carry narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances purchased under prescriprition of a physician, in the presence of and under the prescription issued by the health care institution. The citizen of Hungary, at the time of crossing the customs border of Ukraine, did not have any permits for the transportation of medicines.

Thus, the citizen did not provide customs authority accurate information about the items transported across the customs border, that must be declared and are limited to transportation across the customs border. These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, therefore under Article 511 of this Code, the objects of violation of customs regulations were confiscated, and a report on violation of customs regulations was drawn up.
