Tomorrow Transcarpathian journalists will be acquainted with Montessori

On Tuesday, May 21, at 12.00, in Uzhgorod Press Club there will be the meeting on the topic of "Introduction of early child development methods in Transcarpathia. Special systems for orphanages and children with disabilities."

In Uzhgorod, at the end of last year, the first child development center in Transcarpathia was created, which applies known methods of Maria Montessori.  Together with the regional social services at the Center they also organize summer schools for foster parents and family type homes, consultations with family specialists involving foreign experts.

Tetyana Machabeli, the head of the association "Transcarpathia without orphans" will tell more about the work of the center. Carrie McFarlen, a Montessori expert and teacher from Germany will tell about the advantages of the Montessori method and how to work with it.

The method has been successfully applied worldwide for over 100 years. The essence of the Montessori method is to encourage a child to self-education, self-learning and self-development.  The method motto is "Help me do it by myself."
