September 25, 2012, within the International Medical Forum, a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the National Medical Award (NMA) was held, where the winners were officially declared.
Winners of the highest honors in medicine community were 34 doctors from 21 regions of Ukraine, Kyiv and Sevastopol, 3 rectors of medical schools, 4 health care facilities and 3 higher medical schools, 3 representatives of middle medical personnel, 2 foreign doctor, one foundation and two commercial structures. Most of the winners of the National Medical Award are from Kyiv (17), Kherson (3), Zhytomyr (3) and Crimea (3), and only one is from Transcarpathia – director of the Transcarpathian Center of Neurosurgery and Neurology, world-renowned neurosurgeon, head of neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry of UzhNU, professor Volodymyr Smolanka.
Award ceremony for winners of the National Medical Award is scheduled for October 19.
