Nearly 3-year-old Vika anticipated the arrival of her daddy (PHOTOS)

Last night, family members, friends of the soldiers, Uzhgorod residents gathered at the military unit on Drugety street in Uzhgorod with flags of Ukraine, flowers and blue and yellow balloons. Everyone was waiting for the soldiers of the 128th Brigade.   "Where is daddy? Where?" – almost three-year-old Vika was asking the mother. The wife of a contract soldier Norbert Paulyk said that her husband had been in the ATO area for 4 months. "He would call to hear the voice of our daughter Victoria, – she says. – Sometimes I would hear a strange noise in the receiver. He would calm me down, like, it’s just a shell exploded."

She adds that the husband told her that they were leaving Debaltseve on foot, walked to Artemivsk. She recalls that he called then, said that he loved her and their daughter, promised to come home alive. And the daughter felt that her father was coming. "Today she said that tomorrow Daddy would take her to kindergarten" – the woman said. She does not know yet whether her husband will return to the ATO zone, but she admitted that she’d rather him not to…

Finally, the first bus arrived. Hugs, tears, a band plays. The acting commander of the military unit Volodymyr Polishchuk said that the commander is now in the ATO area and they are expecting 70 soldiers.  Those are representatives of Uzhgorod city, Uzhgorod, Perechyn and Velyky Berezny districts.

The heroes lined up on the parade ground at the request of the Uzhgorod Mayor Victor Pogorelov. He thanked them for their courage. He said that tomorrow he would be waiting commanders for a meeting. Students arranged a feast for soldiers.

Contract soldier Ivan Leshko was looking for his family in the crowd. He says that he comes from the village of Chornoholova in Velyky Berezny district. He does not consider himself a hero because "heroes are those who died." He is happy that all colleagues from the brigade have returned home. He says that if they are ordered to go there again, "we all are ready."

We tried to find out his opinion about how long the war would last. Ivan said: "I do not know. It does not depend on us, we just execute commands that we are given. I wish that all commanders and representatives of the Verkhovna Rada kept their word, fulfilled promises. Only then soldiers will trust them."

Later, another bus with soldiers arrived…
