Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with the prosecution office and the police internal security department caught an investigator of a district police unit on bribe.
Law enforcement officers found out that the offender had demanded three hundred U.S. dollars from a local resident for releasing him from criminal responsibility for possession of drugs.
The operatives of the Security Service detained the policeman and the mediator in Uzhgorod after receiving the bribe.
The criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Art 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was opened. The investigator was notified of being suspected, the choice of a pre-trial restraint is being decided.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
