In April, electricity will become much more expensive

The National Commission intends to adopt a five-stage increase in electricity tariffs for household: by April 2017 they are expected to increase 3.5 times, reaching the average level of 122.83 kop. / KW-hr.

This was informed by the "Interfax-Ukraine".

Currently, the weighted average tariffs for the population is 35.58 kop. / KW-hr.

In particular, the tariffs will increase on April 1, 2015, on September 1, 2015, on March 1, 2016, on September 1, 2016 and on March 1, 2017.

On April 1, 2015, the tariff for the first block of consumption will grow by 19% – to 36.6 kop. / KW-hr, for the second block – by 50% to 63 kop. / KW-hr, for the third block – by 5 % to 140.7 kop. / KW-hr.

Thus, the weighted average price of electricity for households will be brought to the level of its cost – 122.83 kop. / KW-hr.

The first block of consumption is the use of up to 100 kW-hours per month, the second block is the amount consumed in excess of 100 kW-hours per month, the third block is the amount in excess of 600 kW-hours per month.

The National Commission intends to approve all five increases in the same document, and they will be further introduced automatically.

As reported, previously the National Commission reviewed the electricity tariffs for households on June 1 2014, increasing them by 10-40% depending on its consumption. The maximum increase in electricity tariffs for households by 40% was set only for those who consume more than 800 KW-hr per month.
