Flight “Uzhgorod-Prague” will run twice a week in both directions

On October 1, a new flight starts in Uzhgorod that will connect Transcarpathia and the capital of the Czech Republic.The flight characteristics were discussed in the conference hall of the "Praha" hotel during a meeting of Uzhgorod press-club.

According to Serhiy Zamorsky, the director of "Uzhgorod Airlines", the aircraft for the flight "Uzhgorod-Prague" will fly every Tuesday and Friday both ways on each of those days. They already have a schedule. In a day or two they will start selling tickets. 

Volodymyr Horynetsky, the director of the KP "International Airport "Uzhgorod" reported that the airport has received numerous inquiries from potential passengers of the flight.

As for the schedule, it is as follows:

Tuesday: Uzhgorod-Prague 13.20 – 14.10, Prague-Uzhgorod 15.30 – 18.20 (hours indicated in Kyiv and Prague time, respectively).

Friday: Uzhgorod-Prague 8.00 – 8.50, Prague-Uzhgorod 10.20 – 13.10.

Please note that on Friday, the flight from Prague to Uzhgorod after Transcarpathia will run immediately to Kyiv. On Tuesday – vice versa: from Kyiv to Uzhgorod and then to Prague. 

Yuri Berezhnyk, a deputy of Transcarpathian Regional Council, the secretary of the Tourism commission said that he had lived in Prague for more than 22 years, so he has some contacts and therefore worked on the idea of the flight opening.  According to Y. Berezhnyk, the demand for air travel between Uzhgorod and Prague is significant. In particular, only in Prague and its environs there are approximately 70,000 Ukrainian citizens who are potential passengers of the flight.

Oleksandr Koval, an expert on tourism said: "This is a major investment project, for Transcarpathia the flight is a useful step, because it will reinforce positive image of the region in the context of tourism and business logistics. Interestingly, there is no flight to Prague from Lviv, so opening of the flight from Uzhgorod is important for Western Ukraine too."

One ticket for "Uzhgorod-Prague" will cost 120 euros (including all charges). Return ticket will cost 250 euros.     

On the trip, passengers can take up to 20 kg of baggage and 5 kg of hand luggage.

Volodymyr Horynetsky added that the number of air flights from Uzhgorod increases. For example, the flight of "Kyiv-Uzhgorod" was carried out 4 times a week. Now, it’s 5 time (with 65-70% occupancy). It is planned, that the plane to Prague will eventually fly more often too. There are all prerequisites for this – the initiators of the flight say.
