Excursions in Transcarpathia

The second book of the "Series of Educational Publications on Historical Excursion Studies of Transcarpathia" – "Excursions of Transcarpathia" edited by Roman Ofitsynsky – has been published. The publication was released under the stamp of the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine. 

The guidebook consists of five chapters. Each chapter is divided into three sections. The appendixes contain help materials for three more possible excursions. Particularly notable are the sections "Trails of the Opryshko Pyntya" (Valentina Hornetski), "Memorials to the Heroes of Carpathian Ukraine" and "Distinctive Transcarpathian Shrines" (Roman Ofitsynsky), "Ethnographic Displays of Transcarpathia" (Vasyl Kotsan), "Kolochava – the Village of Opryshkos and Museums" (Mykhailo Delegan), "Hamora – the Blacksmithing Gem" (Olga Petrovtsi, Volodymyr Prodan), "Knyahynya. The Site of Meteorite Fall” (Fedir Shandor) and others. "Excursions of Transcarpathia" is a successful continuation of the series launched in 2017 with "Excursions of Uzhgorod". The publication will be useful for tour guides, teachers, students and all lovers of the history and present of Transcarpathia – the westernmost region of Ukraine.
