European Cultural Poster: Bucharest

When choosing a vacation, not everyone focuses on seas and oceans. Some of the people, who are in love with Europe, chose small and big cities of neighboring countries to fill the heart, soul and mind with new impressions. To help you, Uzhgorod.in will try to create a poster of the most interesting impressions that can be obtained this summer if you have enough time and money to do it! Let’s start with Bucharest…

Known as Little Paris, Bucharest is the capital of Romania, as well as the largest center of cultural events in this country. Every year, many fairs and exhibitions, musical and film festivals, concerts and performances are held in Bucharest. Also, distinguished artists and world-famous groups choose Bucharest for their international tours.

More than 400 international artists arrive in Bucharest from July 13 to August 5 at the 10th International Street Theater Festival – B-Fit in the Streetll, organized by the City Hall.

The program of the cultural event this year will be more eclectic and dynamic than ever. This year, it will be the tenth festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the unification of the Romanian lands. Thus, one of the main events of the year will be 40 concerts featuring artists from 11 countries that will perform in key neighborhoods of Bucharest.

Artists from Asia, South America and Europe will surprise the public with a variety of artistic languages: circus pantomime, dance, acrobatics, music, street theater on stilts and fire juggling.

Parade: on Revolution Square, Little Square, in the Odeon Theater and other key neighbourhoods, the streets will turn into theater stages – fire juggling, Japanese performing artist Monk will held an acrobatics and fire juggling show in Bucharest.

The historic center and the University Square will be the venue for nine days in the rhythms of samba, Latin dances, jugglers on stilts, interactive dance numbers and live music. The spectacle of French artists that has been touring for more than 30 years, "Colored People" has become sensation in Canada, Brazil, Europe and Asia, and in 2018 will impress tourists and passers-by of Bucharest.

The B-FIT International Street Theater Festival in Bucharest was launched in 2007. This is the only festival of street theaters in Bucharest. After the success of the first events, which brought together more than 20 thousand participants during the four days of the festival, the number of spectators and participants in 2018 is expected to be ten times more!
