An oil leak from the “Druzhba” pipeline near Mukachevo was detected

Decompression of the "Druzhba" pipeline occurred as a result of technical failure near the village of Ruske in Mukachevo district, Transcarpathian region.

This was reported to Ukrinform by the press service of the State Emergencies Service office in Transcarpathian region.

"Today, September 23, at 03:34, the head of the Transcarpathian station "Karpaty State Border" of the "Druzhba" pipeline reported to the 7th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Mukachevo that during the inspection of the area near the village of Ruske in Mukachevo district, a leakage of oil from the pipeline had been detected within the safety zone," – the statement reads.

25 persons and three units of equipment are engaged in liquidation of the emergency to dig out the damaged section of the pipeline.

Oil transportation is currently being carried out through the parallel pipeline. The cause of the pipeline decompression is being established.
