A Mercedes with contraband was stopped at the checkpoint “Uzhgorod” (PHOTOS)

The value of the minibus amounted to almost 400 thousand hryvnias, and the value of the goods found in it is currently being determined.

"Yesterday afternoon, border guards of the Uzhgorod department thwarted an attempt to illegally move car parts into the territory of Ukraine. During the inspection of a minibus "Mercedes" with Ukrainian registration driven by our compatriot, the inspectors suspected that the traveler might be trying to commit illegal actions,” – the report reads.

The border guards decided to thoroughly check the vehicle together with customs officers. A cache was found inside the minibus during the inspection. Parts of a gasoline engine to a speedboat and a disassembled moped "Kawasaki" were found in a double partition.

According to the current legislation, the 2009 Mercedes, as well as the moped and the engine hidden in it, were seized by customs officials.
