80 employees in Uzhgorod district have not received salaries for three months – prosecutors initiated criminal proceedings

Uzhgorod Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office initiated the criminal proceedings over the fact of unreasonable failure to pay wages to 80 employees of the SE ACE "Leanka" in amount of almost 187,000 UAH.

It was established that over the last three months, employees of the said company have not received salaries without any reasons. Thus, prosecutors opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 175 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (failure to pay wages) and filed lawsuit claims for the benefit of employees for the specified amount.

Part 1 of Art. 175 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – failure to pay wages, stipends, pensions or other statutory payments to citizens for more than one month, committed intentionally by the head of the company, institution or organization regardless of ownership or by a citizen – business entity, punishable by a fine of five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes, or correctional labor for up to two years, or imprisonment for up to two years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years.
