Chocolatier and confectioner Valentin Shtefanyo is well known to the Transcarpathian public. One of the most famous brands of the region, the master of sweets and chocolate sculptures, inventor and author of the cake "Uzhgorod", tailor of the profiterole wedding dress, author of dozens of original recipes for cakes and sweets.
Today is a holiday for Valentin. And a holiday in Uzhgorod. The long-awaited dream of the confectioner has finally come true – he has opened a pastry shop under the name, which did not take long to invent, for this name is one of the hallmarks of the region: "Valentin Shtefanyo". The address of the "sweet" establishment is Dukhnovich street, 16 – near the Greek-Catholic Cathedral and the Tourist Information Centre. Near the stairs that go up the street to the cathedral and, in the words of Valentin, remind him of Montmartre.
Valentin’s sister – also known confectioner, the winner of numerous competitions and festivals, recognized in Paris as the "Queen of macaroons" – came to the opening from France. Because Valentina, who for many years has been living and working in Paris, is the best maker of this traditional French macaroons with cream.
Besides traditional macaroons, the range of the confectionery includes many more delicious things. According to Valentin, the range can be divided into three main categories: bakery products, chocolate products and cream confectionery. Among the bakery products, there are traditional French baguettes, bread with different kind of cereals (corn, buckwheat, etc.), Viennese pastries. French croissants, pan-rezan, pan-chocolate, biscuits, tarts and more.
The openeing was attended by dozens of guests – friends and partners of Valentin. Among them, there were very distinguished guests such as the Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod, Mr. Jozsef Bacskai.
