On Cyril and Methodius Square, you can still see fragments of marble tombstones underfoot. However, not everyone knows this fact. When the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life was founded near Uzhgorod Castle, at the site of a small Greek Catholic cemetery, the cemetery, where priests and their family members were buried, was destroyed by a bulldozer. The black marble was split into pieces and used to pave the square. Now, on some pieces of the tile, you can still see inscriptions from tombstones…
