The police seized ammunition from an unemployed resident of Uzhgorod

Uzhgorod policemen, while patrolling the administrative district near the house number 17 on Belinsky street, stopped a 55-year-old unemployed Uzhgorod resident for committing an administrative offense under Art. 173-1 of the CAO (breach of the peace). The man “voluntarily” gave out of his jacket pocket 18 cartridges of 5.6 mm caliber without marking. According to the man, he had found ammunition near the lake on Mynaiska street. The ammunition was seized and sent to the forensic research center at the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for examination.

Transcarpathia is in the top 5 regions with the lowest wages

Transcarpathia is one of five regions of Ukraine with the lowest wages. On average, a resident of Transcarpathia makes 2549 UAH, while the average salary in the country, in November was 3268 UAH. In terms of salaries, Transcarpathia is only ahead of Chernivtsi region – 2524, Kherson region – 2478 and Ternopil region – 2426 UAH. The highest average salary is in Kyiv – 5022 UAH.

At the same time, arrears of wages increase. In November, throughout the country they increased to 1.19 billion hryvnias. In Transcarpathia arrears in wages are 8.3 million hryvnias.

State Border Service: border traffic has increased during the holidays

The Western Regional Office of the State Border Service of Ukraine, guarding the border with the European Union and the Republic of Moldova reported a significant increase in passenger and vehicle traffic during the New Year’s and Christmas holidays. Thus, in the period from 1 to 7 of January, over four hundred and twenty thousand people and over one hundred and thirty thousand vehicles crossed the western border, which is 15 percent more than that compared to the same period of 2013. The highest growth was registered on the Ukrainian-Polish border, also there was a significant increase of border traffic at the Ukrainian-Hungarian and Ukrainian-Slovak borders.
