As we reported, yesterday, the XVII All-Ukrainian fencing tournament dedicated to the memory of the Honored Coach of Ukraine Vasyl Herey started in the SC "Yunist".
In the first hall, on Wednesday, April 27, cadets (boys and girls born in 2000 and younger) were fencing in foils. 125 athletes were competing, in total the tournament is attended by over 300 fencers from all over Ukraine (including Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea).
Danyil Tkach from Mykolayiv became the champion among boys, Maxim Skopets from Kyiv finished the second. Bogdan Boldaryev and Vladislav Skaliy shared the third place.
Anna Taranenko (Kyiv) won gold among girls, Oleksandra Budenko also from Kyiv became the silver medalist. Olga Sopit from Kyiv and Oleksandra Shilova from Mykolayiv won bronze awards.
The top eight athletes received prizes from the sponsors of the tournament.
