Uzhgorod residents are gathering through social networks – to protect Shchadey

In the group Uzhgorod, a message was posted by a resident of the city – Vasyl Prokopyshyn who has an active position, but does not belong to any political movements or groups known for parapolitical activity.

Here is what the young Uzhgorod resident wrote:

"There is information from various sources that tomorrow at 10:00 at the meeting of the city council, members intend to dismiss the Acting Mayor Victor Shchadey and vote for Yanukovych’s former representative in Uzhgorod.

 I, as an ordinary citizen, believe that there is no one in the City Council who could work as the Acting Mayor better than Victor. In a short time, he has made a lot of useful things for the city, he works transparently, constantly reports to the public, at last every resident can personally contact the head of the city and receive an adequate response.

I urge all active residents of the city to come tomorrow morning at 9:30 am to Poshtova Square and support Victor Shchadey, not for money, not by order of your boss, but simply to express our position so that all deputies would see real people’s opinions, to show that paid bandits and Roma can not influence the management of the city," – the statement reads.

At the same time, the Public Convention of Uzhgorod Euromaidan also calls Uzhgorod residents to not be indifferent and to prevent the revenge of the "regionals" in the city council.
