The Public Council of Transcarpathia did not support the creation of a new army of controllers

This Friday, there was a regular meeting of the Public Council at the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region. The main topic discussed at that meeting was the creation of the Financial Investigation Service of Ukraine.

The Acting Deputy Chief – the Chief of the Financial Investigation Department of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region Mykhailo Shukost, reporting on the advantages of the Service, said: "Society needs systemic reforms. Creation of the Financial Investigation Service is part of these changes, in particular – in the tax system. This will reduce the burden on each taxpayer and reduce the costs for the maintenance of the bodies fighting against economic crimes."

After the presentation of the concept of the Service, members of the Public Council asked questions to the head of the investigation department of the Ministry of income in the region and voiced their comments on the proposed reform, the press service of the organization informed.

As we learned from our sources, the head of the territorial branch of the AUT Martha Voloshchuk opposed the creation of a new service. In her opinion, formed as a result of decades of experience in senior positions in the tax system of Transcarpathia since its formation, a new structure will lead to the birth of another "monster" that will be duplicating the functions and overstaffing.

Instead, the said functions of financial fraud investigation can be performed by the bureau, established on the basis of the reduced tax police at the fiscal authorities of Ukraine.

Members of the Public Council supported Martha Voloshchuk and stressed the need for elimination of departments to combat economic crimes in the police and the Security Service of Ukraine.

After discussing the matter, the Public Council at the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region unanimously (with one abstained vote) voted against the idea of the establishment of the financial investigation service, which in the opinion of the Council members, will lead to further pressure on business and increase of the army of controllers.
