The General Prosecutor of Ukraine initiated a criminal proceeding for wrongful termination of purchase of body armor by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
This was announced by the press service of the GPU – the Ekonomichna Pravda informed.
As noted, following the audit conducted by the Main department for the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens and the state’s interests, fight against corruption and crime in the transport sector of the General Prosecutor’s Office, they opened a criminal proceeding for unlawful termination of public procurement of body armor by officials of the Antimonopoly Committee.
"With their actions, the said officers threatened national security and defense of the country and caused significant damage to the interests of the state by undermining the authority of the Antimonopoly Committee" – the statement reads.
As reported earlier, the Acting Defence Minister Mykhailo Koval said that the Antimonopoly Committee was blocking the process of purchase of body armor for the Ukrainian army.
