The atmosphere of the abandoned cinema “Uzhgorod”… (VIDEO)

Uzhgorod filmmakers shot a video in the abandoned cinema "Uzhgorod"

The guys filmed the footage this Monday, June 9, and today edited and posted it on the web.

The crew consists of childhood friends: Eduard Yeger, Yevhen Pilenko, Victor Brynzey and Yuriy Hotra.

– We often like to visit such buildings – old, abandoned, historic and inaccessible to people. And this movie theater is not so simple. We wanted to show people what is behind these closed doors. This place used to be so crowded, and at one point it just became closed to people.

I often attend film screenings in modern cinemas, such as "Domion", "5th Element", and so on. But for some reason it always recall the cinema "Uzhgorod"It had an atmosphere of its own – Soviet architecture, very old vintage look of movies. Also tickets there were the cheapest – only 5 UAH.

We expected to see much less there. Once, all visitors, including us, could only see the lobby and the screening room. This time, we had the chance to see the projectionist’s room, and various offices of the cinema, and curtains behind the main screen.

When we were going to shoot in the movie theater, we did not know what would happen there, but we all have experience of working in similar situations, so we behave appropriately in any unforeseen circumstances. As for the video, we did not know what we would see there, so we improvised during the shooting process, – Yuriy Hotra said.
