Sport tourism competition “EUROCARPATY” has started in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

Today, sport tourism competition "EUROCARPATY" began in the village of Orikhovytsya in Uzhgorod district. This year’s Open Championship of Transcarpathian region "EUROCARPATY" acquired the status of the Cup of Ukraine, which greatly increased its popularity and expanded the geography of participants. Thus, teams of Donetsk, Poltava, Lviv, Volyn, Chernihiv, Kherson, Ternopil and Kyiv regions, the city of Kyiv, Ukrainian State Centre of Tourism and Local History take part in the competition. Transcarpathian region is represented by teams of Irshava and Khust district stations of young tourists, the Transcarpathian center of tourism, local history, excursions and sports, the city of Uzhgorod, Uzhgorod, Tyachiv, Beregovo districts. In total, more than 250 participants take part in this year’s event.

The opening of the event was attended by the Head of the Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Department of the RSA Eduard Malyar, the deputy head of Uzhgorod District State Administration Ivan Berets, the director of the Department of Education and Science of the RSA Marianna Klyap, the director of the regional center of tourism, local history, excursions and sports Volodymyr Chepa. 

The competitions will be held on technical distances of classes 2-4 and include competitions on distances "Cross Course," "Obstacle Course" (team and personal). The class of technical distances for juniors correspond to the level of sport tourism championship of Ukraine for juniors. The winners of this year’s competition will have the opportunity to qualify for the sports title of the Candidate Master of Sports in sport tourism.
