Last night officers of the Border Service "Solotvyno" of the Mukachevo border guard detachment prevented the illegal importation of a vehicle across the state border of Ukraine.
Thus, a car "Subaru" made in 2006, registered in Ukraine, driven by a citizen of Ukraine born in 1969, arrived at the crossing from Romania. During the initial questioning of the citizen, border guards noticed that certain information about the car and the purpose of travel to neighboring Romania was rather dubious. Therefore, the border guards initiated in-depth inspection together with customs officers.
The check of this vehicle in databases revealed that the car had never left the territory of Ukraine, and as a result of the joint inspection they found signs of a forged body number: ID numbers on the front and back sides of the engine partition dis not match.
The vehicle was seized, the question of initiation of criminal proceeding against the citizen is being considered.
