Residents of Uzhgorod district celebrated the National Flag Day with patriotic cleaning

Ukrainians have long had a special tradition of preparation for the holidays: they would clean not only their homes, but also yards, common areas. Thus, on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine and on the eve of the biggest national holiday – Independence Day – in the village of Patskanyovo in Uzhgorod district, there was a patriotic cleaning, which was attended by the Deputy of Ukraine, member of the parliamentary group "Sovereign European Ukraine" Vasyl Kovacs, the head of the Uzhgorod District State Administration Maria Koval-Mazyuta, the Deputy Head of the District State Administration Ivan Berets, the Head of the Education Department of the Uzhgorod District State Administration Marianna Mykhailyshyna and an engineer of the Education Department Volodymyr Korneev.

Together, they worked at the village council, kindergarten and school, showing a good example for local residents. Local residents were not loafing either – they were cleaning, painting, planting flowers.

Already in a few days, the kindergarten will open after the summer break and more than three dozen kids will come to renovated rooms and yard. The staff of the institution did their best, and guests did not come empty-handed: the MP bought for the children a toy locomotive, the district state administration gave the kindergarten and the elementary school swings that were installed right away. 

As the participants of the event admitted, they were satisfied with the results, as they did a useful and right thing. The time spent together charged everbody with positive emotions and the community saw the helpful result of joint coordinated actions.
