Prosecutors: some village heads do not repair roads, even ha funds

Some village heads of Uzhgorod district, having appropriate budget funds and grants available, do nothing to repair roads

Uzhgorod Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office conducted checks on compliance with the budget law during construction, reconstruction and repair of communal streets and roads as part of the supervision over the observance and application of laws in Hudlyovo, Velyki Heyevtsi and Esen village councils.

According to Uzhgorod interdistrict prosecutor Oleksandr Andryshyn, "It was found out that some village heads do not take measures to ensure repair works on roads of communal property. And this is despite the availability of appropriate subsidies from the State Budget of Ukraine, as well as own funds in local budgets provided for such works. Individual village heads have not taken any measures to enter into appropriate contracts to conduct current and capital repairs."

In order to eliminate violations of the current legislation in the budget sector, Uzhgorod interdistrict prosecutor made appropriate orders to the heads of village councils with the requirement to take immediate actions to enter into appropriate agreements, perform repairs of communal roads, as well as to discipline the guilty officials of village councils.
