Let the mini-hydro plants owners protect the villages of Uzhgorod district from flood – the ”Governor’s” idea

Today, March 20, at the press conference the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda was asked whether he had a vision as to the protection of the villages in Uzhgorod district threatened by flooding with the waters of the Andriyivske Lake.

The "Governor" said that the threat has been existing long, but previously the lake has been under responsibility of the state farm "Leanka." Now the farm is no longer operating and will soon be completely liquidated, the land will be distributed to people and Uzhgorod district can not protect villages from flooding due to lack of financial resources. Therefore Ledyda said that he would suggest

the businesses that build mini-hydro plants in Transcarpathia to build them on the Andriyivske Lake. Thus, they will earn money and protect the villages, situated below the lake.
