Ledyda predicts that in 20-30 years Uzhgorod and Mukachevo will be closer

As you know, now Uzhgorod Master Plan is one of the main topics of discussion in the city, the process of its adjustment continues.

As the chief architect of the city Sheba Oleksandr informed, Kyiv designers provided for the extension of the city area for about a thousand hectares.

However, heads of village councils located near the city expressed their opinion about the plans to expand Uzhgorod.

And the Mayor Victor Pogorelov said that villages had long been enjoying the city infrastructure.

We asked the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda to express his opinion on this issue.

Answering the question of uzhgorod.in, he said: "I think that everything must be within the law. Before developing the Master Plan, the city authorities had to invite village heads, representatives of district authorities and tell them: "We will continue to work, build, develop. We want to know what you think." We need systematic development. And development plans are master plans. Speaking about the city of Uzhgorod, two-thirds of its territory is surrounded by the state border. So, it can only expand in the direction of Mukachevo. Actually I think that in 20-30 years there will not be such a big difference (apparently distance – uzhgorod.in) between Uzhgorod and Mukachevo: they will be extending towards each other. And it can become a major center with roads, lighting, with infrastructure …".

The head of the RSA said that, perhaps, in 20-30 years the cities would be closer.
