In Transcarpathia, they earned 808,000 on tourism. The money went to the general fund

Over the year 2012, in Transcarpathia they collected 808,620 UAH of the tourism tax. This was announced today, March 19, by the Acting Head of European Integration, Foreign Relations and Tourism Department Oleksandr Marchenko.

 According to Marchenko, this money should have been used for the development of the tourism industry. However, this tax goes to general fund of local budgets, thus the money are spent on operating expenses, but not specifically on the tourism industry. 

Also, according to the official, today about 70% of recreational services in our region remain in the shadows. It concerns primarily the tourism in rural dwellings.
