The "Zakarpathaz" PJSC revealed violations of rules for use of gas and heating devices in 90 thousand homes

During the routine inspection, employees of the company, over 5 months in 2014, found violations of rules for use of gas and heating devices in 90 thousand homes and disconnected 766 customers.

 Employees of the company, during the routine inspection, examined internal gas pipelines, gas and heating appliances (using soap emulsion or instrument method), and eliminated the detected gas leaks where necessary.

The inspections of internal gas supply system in residential buildings, which are carried out by "Zakarpathaz" PJSC, allow not only to detect violations, but also to prevent the occurrence of accidents.  

As confirmed by the results of the inspection, most of the violations include unauthorized installation of heating gas appliances, lack of draft in the flue and ventilation ducts, absence of vents in the room where the heating equipment is installed. "The main problem in ensuring the safe operation of gas equipment is an unauthorized installation of gas heating equipment in apartments or private homes and installation of forced exhaust ventilation, resulting in an effect of back draft, which can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning of residents" – the chief engineer Andriy Horvath said.  

Specialists of the "Zakarpathaz" PJSC emphasize that consumers must comply with the "Gas Supply Safety Rules", which allows the gas network to function smoothly and trouble-free. To this end, the workers of the "Zakarpathaz" PJSC hold public briefings on safe use of gas in homes and provide Manuals for operation of flue and ventilations ducts in residential buildings. At present, more than 79,000 people have undergone such briefing.
