Hennadiy Moskal made a two-day working trip to Budapest and held a series of meetings with officials of the Hungarian government.
At the meetings, they discussed several issues, the most important of which were the repair of the road to the Veretsky pass and the construction of Beregovo ring road. In April this year, the Deputy State Secretary Zsolt Csutora, at the invitation of H. Moskal, came to Transcarpathia and personally inspected the road from Nyzhni Vorota to the Veretsky pass (where the memorial plaque in honor of the Hungarian tribes is situated). Currently, the decision has been taken – the Hungarian government will repair the road at their own expense, and the Transcarpathian RSA will provide the Hungarian experts with accommodation, technical documentation and full support and assistance.
The situation with the construction of Beregovo ring road is more complicated. The Hungarian government is ready to finance the works on credit, but they cannot do that because the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will not secure the loan. To have the construction started, H. Moskal suggested to change the financing method – security for the Hungarians will be provided not by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, but by the local government of Transcarpathia. In this way, Poland finances a number of major projects in the border regions of Ukraine.
The Hungarian party listened to H.Moskal’s idea and promised to give an answer on the possibility of its implementation in the near future.
