How will the “Automobilist” be reconstructed in Uzhgorod? (Illustration)

The reconstruction of the "Automobilist" stadium is taking place in Uzhgorod. According to the Acting Mayor Victor Shchadey, they plan to build a sportsground with artificial turf, an indoor sportsground, a playground, a jogging track, stands, as well as to fully upgrade the football field and to install irrigation system.

All works will be carried out at the expense of donors. A tentative estimate of the works is more than 3 million hryvnias. Currently, they have cleaned the area, set up 200 meters of fence and made a well. Importantly, the stadium remains in the ownership of the city community.

"Thanks to people who are willing to invest their own money in the sport. Nowadays it is rare. Also thanks to the head of the Football Federation of Uzhgorod Victor Kachur, who personally coordinates all the work. Over the last few years, the stadium has been in a poor condition and different developers already have set their sights on it. Thanks to active people, who promote sports in Uzhgorod, we are saving the stadium and soon residents of the surrounding neighbourhoods will have the opportunity to go in for sports at the renewed "Automolist" – the Acting Mayor said.
