The European Commission is preparing for the final signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine and confirms the intention to continue bilateral consultations with Russia on the possible effects of a free trade area between Ukraine and the EU.
This was said in Brussels by a representative of the European Commission, the UNIAN reported.
"We are ready (for signing). The process of preparation for the signing of the agreement to make it happen as soon as possible, at the latest in June, continues," – the source said.
"If we talk about the format of signing, it will be the same as that for the signing of the political part, that is, by the Presidents of the European Commission, the EU Council together with the Member States", – he added.
Also commenting on the issue of current debate between Brussels and Moscow on possible economic effects of the creation of TSA between Ukraine and the EU, the EC representative said that the EC was ready to continue consultations as needed.
"The parties had one round of bilateral consultations between working groups established by the EU-Russia summit in March. We are ready to continue consultations," – he added.
