Electricity consumed in May shall be paid for at the “old” rates

In recent days, the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC has been receiving many calls about the increase in electricity tariffs, which was established by the National commission for the regulation of the energy sector (NCRE) on the recommendation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Transcarpathians specifically ask, which tariffs will be used for billing of the electricity consumed in May? If the bills come in June, does that mean that electricity has been automatically billed at the new, higher tariffs?  

The First Deputy General Director of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC Artem Martynyuk provided clarification on this matter: "The electricity consumed by the population in May this year shall be billed only at those tariffs that were in effect in May, that is, before the increase. Only the electricity consumed by the population starting from June 1 shall be billed at the tariffs established by the NCRE from this date."

Electricity will be billed at the new tariffs only in the bills that customers will receive in early July, A. Martynyuk said. He also said: "We could not provide clarification on this issue earlier, because the tariff increase was a surprise for us, as the resolution was published only on May 27, 2014, and in a few days came into effect."

Artem Martynyuk added that the new tariffs for electricity set by the NCRE on the recommendation of the Cabinet of Ministers are printed in bills to allow consumers to study them in detail. All relevant information is available on the government portal, the site of the National commission for the regulation of the energy sector (NCRE) and the official portal of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC www.energo.uz.ua.

Clarifications on tariffs and payments for energy consumption, including that in May of this year, have been posted on the website of the "Zakarpattyaoblerho" PJSC since June 1.
