The government supported the bill that will allow disabled people to obtain ownership of cars for free after 10 years of use
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at its meeting on August 13, 2014 supported the bill "On amending some laws of Ukraine to provide disabled people with vehicles," – the report of the Ministry of Social Policy states.
The adopted bill enables a disabled person, at the wish of such disabled person, a legal representative of an incapacitated disabled person or a child of a disabled person, to become the owner of the car, that he or she has been using for more than 10 years.
If the bill is passed by the Parliament, vehicles, including those deemed as humanitarian aid, will be provided to such citizens for free.
As the Minister for Social Policy Lyudmila Denisova noted, the current mechanism to provide disabled people with vehicles should be improved, because nowadays people with disabilities cannot obtain ownership of cars given to them by the state for free.
