In Transcarpathia, the police in cooperation with the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting will be monitoring the situation in television and radio information space and punishing violators.
The armed conflict in the area of the ATO continues in Ukraine. Aggressive actions of separatists were largely caused by Russian TV channels propaganda in Eastern regions. Therefore, Ukraine should effectively counteract enemy propaganda.
To this end, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov issued an order number 840 dd. August 19 "On some issues of information security of Ukraine." In cooperation with the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting (Chairman – Yuriy Artemenko), the police will be counteracting Russian propaganda aggression.
Today, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there was a confrence call, which was held by the Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Heraschenko and the Chairman of the National Council on Television and Radio Yuriy Artemenko. There, they identified areas of cooperation of the National Council and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and their local representatives in order to effectively counteract the enemy propaganda.
According to the representative of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting in Transcarpathian region Ivan Kuzma, the District Administrative Court in Kyiv and the National Council temporarily prohibited broadcasting of 14 Russian TV channels on the territory of Ukraine. In particular, the "Channel 1.Global Network" (ORT), "RTR-Planeta", "NTV-Mir", "Russia-24", "TVSI , "Russia-1", "NTV", "TNT", "Petersburg-5", "Zvezda", "REN-TV", "Life News", "Russia Today", "RBC-TV."
In order to prevent Russian TV propaganda in Transcarpathia, the police together with a representative of the National Council on Television and Radio starts monitoring cable networks in hotels, spa complexes, tourist centers, medical and other recreational facilities.
In case of failure to comply with applicable law, officials and responsible persons will be fined or prosecuted.
