Today in support of Kyiv, where hundreds of thousands of people for nearly three weeks have been demonstrating indomitable spirit and strength of the multimillion nation, in solidarity with the capital, the Day of Dignity was held in Uzhgorod.
Today, it was not about the number of people: a lot of socially active fellows have left to Kyiv, where our common future is being made. Today’s gathering on Teatralna square was rather a symbolic sign that together we – freedom-loving associates with dignity – are millions. And that dignity can not be killed with intimidation, frozen with cold and lulled with worthless governmental promises.
The vast majority of those, who have been actively advocating Ukrainians’ right to peaceful and dignified life in Uzhgorod, were absent at the today’s rally. Some of the coordinators, on the initiative of which the "local" EuroMaidan appeared, community activists, who would come to the protests, ordinary concerned Transcarpathians – all of them are now among the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians from different parts of the country protecting the right of each of us to be called and feel like Human at the heart of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, local people continue to express their support and solidarity to those who are now on the "front line." By joint performance of the anthem, attending rallies, with their smiles and warm eyes, and every time – with their faith and beliefs.
The belief that decent people will make the power to respect them. The belief that tomorrow the darkness will dissipate, and the nation, that is being hardened these days, will finally sigh with relief after the victory.
