An Internet beau cheated a resident of Mukachevo out of 20,000 UAH

A trusting resident of Mukachevo transferred a mysterious "boyfriend", whom she had never met in real life, 20,000 UAH for a supposed surgery. After that, the "lover" just disappeared from the network. The crook is wanted by the police.

Recently, a 24-year-old girl reported to Mukachevo city police that she had been cheated. The girl said that she had met the guy in one of the social networks. For about six months they were exchanging messages, but never talked on the phone.

But that did not stop the trusting girl from a sincere intention to help the Internet beau when he supposedly was hospitalized. Through a text message, the man asked the girl to send him 20,000 UAH for surgery…

Of course, the girl did not have that much money. Then she decided to take a loan and to help the "beloved" anyway. Thus she transferred the stranger 15,000 UAH. But he did not stop there. The next day, he asked for another 5,000 and promised to pay back in three days. But when all the money had been sent, the young man simply disappeared from the network, did not respond to SMS and phone calls. The disillusioned girl appealed to the police.

The investigator of the city police registered this incident in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations on the basis of Part 1 of Art.190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud). The preliminary inquiry is ongoing.
